Horta to announce his Presidential Bid after visiting Japan and Hollywood

Dili - TP (18/1) President Ramos Horta left Timor Leste to Japan on Tuesday to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The President of the republic was accompanied by the Minister of Economy, João Gonçalves and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto da Silva.

“During the visit, the head of the state is to meet with the new Prime Minister of Japan, and to visit Toyota and other places that were affected by Tsunami and earthquake. After that we will also meet with a Japanese artist who will become goodwill Ambassador to Timor Leste,” said Vice Minister Alberto to the journalist at the VIP lounge at the Nicolao Lobato International Airport, Dili.

Mr. Alberto added that after the official visit to Japan, the president will return to Timor Leste on Saturday, rest for 24 hours and depart again to the United States of America to attend a ceremony at Hollywood, Los Angeles. At the end of the visit to the United States, the president will return to Timor Leste, to announce his candidature on 1st of January together will all the listed candidates at the Court of Appeal in order to compete in the 2012 presidential election.
